What Is A Bridal Shower?
A bridal shower is a pre-wedding party at which the guests - usually female - all bring gifts for the bride to be.

Originally bridal showers were prepared as surprise parties; the recipient could hardly be seen to be asking for presents! However today bridal showers are so common that many people make no pretence of surprise. Instead the bride to be is often part of the shower planning process. This ensures that the event can be fun for all involved.
A bridal shower party can simply be a get together in someone's home or a more elaborate event based around a theme appropriate to the couple
concerned; if you're looking for themes, their interests and hobbies makea good place to start. Food and drink are often part of the event, this can either
be simple or elaborate. Sometimes the bride will reciprocate the shower gifts by passing out little wedding favour style gifts to the guests.
There's no set timing for the bridal shower, however it usually takes place a few weeks before the date of the wedding.
Oh, and don't forget the groom! Although gift showers have traditionally been held for brides some people are now holding them for the groom as well.
